Kim Morrison

Senior Contributor & Social Media Manager

Kim Morrison is a horror writer from Edinburgh, Scotland. She enjoys crocheting, has a mild obsession with bees, and a Simpsons quote for every occasion. Kim developed a love of horror from watching Stephen King's 'IT' far too young, and now is a fan of final girls, werewolves, remakes, horrible ankle injuries, and defending 'The Rage: Carrie 2' whenever possible. Follow Kim on Twitter or read more on Little Red Horror.

Ariel Powers-Schaub

Senior Contributor and Administrative Assistant

Ariel (pronounced r-e-L) is a lifelong horror enthusiast from the American midwest. Her first horror memory is being terrified, but fascinated, by the pollution monster in FernGully, and she has been chasing that feeling ever since. She will watch almost anything, but particularly loves found footage, slashers, and anything gory. You can find her sipping bourbon and trying to convince others around her that the Saw franchise actually has a lot to say. When not watching horror, she is likely reading Stephen King, watching pro wrestling, or listening to R&B music. She is obsessed with Halloween, and spends the whole year planning for the holiday, which also happens to be her wedding anniversary.

Jerry Sampson

Senior Contributor

Jerry Sampson is a freelance writer, horror writer, screenwriter, and editor. Her love for film and the horror genre leads her to explore and question the darkness that lies in the shadows of human existence. She studies the concept of inherited trauma and finds that theme coming up unconsciously in much of her work. Jerry finds shelter in writing, reading and watching sinister stories that haunt and terrify. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and cat-child.

Elizabeth Bishop

Senior Contributor

Liz is based in sunny Birmingham, where she spends her time drinking rose wine, playing Stardew Valley and rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer over and over again…

Her love of horror came to light when her Grandad pulled Blade out of his extensive VHS collection when she was just a child. Since then, a lifetime of consuming an excessive amount of scares through films, tv, books and podcasts has resulted in her being afraid of everything but prepared for anything.

Iona Smith

Senior Contributor

Iona is a long-time horror fan who found her love for all things spooky at a very young age. When she's not writing for Ghouls, Iona works in development for non-scripted television where she has a reputation for coming up with ideas about death, sex, and nerd culture. She enjoys skulking in cinemas, aimlessly wandering graveyards, and trying to persuade people to watch all the Final Destination films. You can find her on most social media platforms.

Alix Turner

Contributor

Alix discovered both David Lynch and Hardware in 1990, and has been seeking out weird and nasty films ever since (though their tastes have become broader and more cosmopolitan). A few years ago, Alix discovered a fondness for genre festivals and a knack for writing about films, and now cannot seem to stop. They especially appreciate wit and representation on screen, and introducing old favourites to their adolescent son.

Caitlyn Downs

Contributor

Caitlyn lives in a 175-year-old house next to a graveyard in South Wales so an interest in horror was practically guaranteed. A screen studies course at University prompted greater interest in horror films, festivals and turning her ability to overthink almost anything into something productive. She wears too much eyeliner and is rarely without rescue lurcher Casper at her side.

Hannah Ogilvie

Contributor

Hannah is originally from Scotland and now lives in Sheffield. She has a love for all film and TV but horror is her main passion and has thankfully found a community of like minded people. Hannah has found somewhere where her brain, which seems to retain the most useless information on pop culture (she is badass in a pub quiz), is now useful. Hannah loves a good ghost story, zombie flick and slasher or occasionally just shouting at the screen when a character makes a non-sensical decision only to further the plot. When not writing, Hannah spends her time playing video games and listening to podcasts.
